Default Primary springs for the V-Force

Tested two new primary springs in the V-Force tonight.

Got a purple primary straight from the Polaris dealership. Approx. 2 7/8 inches long, but I can't find any specs on it. Its the same length as the brown I'm using now, but its a little thicker. Stall is approx. 500 RPM's above stock and since its thicker than the brown, it'll pull more RPM's so I'm going to keep it in and see how it does this weekend.

I also pulled the Polaris orange out of my 400 Scrambler just for test purposes. Stall on it is approx. 1000 RPM's, but its still very rideable. Not as friendly on the trails as the others would be, but would work well for drag racing.

The brown I'm using stalls at about 300 RPM's over stock, maybe 400 if I put the shim in. I'll try and get a white to test sometimes this week.

Any of these springs would be a big improvement over the stock job.

No, my orange is about 3 1/2 inches long. This is where people are having problems, it seems either Polaris has changed the specs or aftermarket companies are selling different springs as factory Polaris. For good low stall and a nice pickup on RPM's, look for a spring around 3" long with thicker coils. Longer than 3 1/2 is going to give too much stall with the stock weights. You can go shorter and add up to 3 shims to raise the rates on the springs also. The easiest thing to do would probably be to take a tape measure to a Polaris dealer and measure what they have.
