New Arctic Cats really a P650?
The new Cats now offer a 633 V-twin. Also notice where they have placed the gas tank...Same location as the P650. (nort on the LE model) They also have a Locking front diff, Electronic instrument panel that resemble the prairie 650.... very interesting
If it truly has a Kawi v-twin (not entirely impossible due to the fact that for many years Suzuki has supplied many of their engines) than I may just have to buy one. I like the tougher plastic and fenders The Cat has to offer not to mention the IRS. Anyway I'm not trying to spead rumors but something is awfully familar with the new Arctic Cat

New Arctic Cats really a P650?
My dealer was telling me that they had to detune the 650 motor even more to make it not break things in stock Kawi form....It does answer the IRS prayers for some, but the power is what that V-twin is all about! Look to the Prairie 700 for performance, Cat 650 for the IRS.

Cat650 will be the top of the market unless Suzuki does something big with the same engine. We knew there would be a payoff for the KFX/Z-400, and Suzuki has let Arctic Cat go first with it. Expect some sort of V-twin from Suzuki as well, along with the locker and 4wd setup borrowed from kawasaki.
I just hope Arctic Cat uses their own transmission instead of keeping the Prairies. I have no idea if they detuned it or not, but any Kawasaki dealership is going to tell you they did. Hell, I had a Honda/Bomb dealership tell me a DS650 (first year model) would do 104 mph stock. Then he got mad when I told him he was full of crap. Also had a Polaris dealership tell me that there wasn't anything good about the SP500 H.O. compared to the original Sportsman 500, and that was because he had 12 Sportsmans to try and move and didn't even have any H.O.'s ordered yet. Dealerships are full of crap a lot of times. But of course, he could have been telling the truth and the AC650 is detuned. Who knows. No reason to detune it though, seeing that Kawasaki ditched it and went with the 700 now. Big move there for them. Kind of sucks for those that got a 650 and then 2 years later they go bigger. Like those that got a 99 GM pickup and then watched as it gained 15 more horsepower the next year.
The AC650 looks like the real deal though. All it needs is the manual transmission (or a Rubicon transmission) and it would be the perfect 4x4.

In terms of the Kawi and Suziki motors in AC's it is true (at least in snowmobiles) that AC uses just Suzuki motors, however years ago it was just Kawi motors they used. Maybe they strarted that relationship up again. Might explain the P650 engine being in an AC
