Default Regarding that V Force Clutch Spring.....

A couple of weeks ago I know some of you guys were buying springs from Hotseat.......have any of you installed them yet and have any test results?

I just got my DMC Alien pipes on and rejetted and now am ready for the next step but have no conclusive information regarding which spring works well. I would like to hear what you guys are experiencing with these different springs.......

Also, DMC Alien says NOT to do any airbox mods, does everybody agree with that?

If you add more fuel .... you need more air to keep the ratio correct. How do you do
that if you do not open up the air box ?????

Hi VForcer, I don't know much about it, but I can say I talked with Art at DMC Alien and he claimed they did extensive testing on the VForce with and without Airbox modification and the results were that the Airbox did NOT need a to be messed with as it did not produce any performance gain because the stock airbox gets plenty of air as-is.

I am assuming they do all there testing on a dyno.

The V-Force airbox can flow plenty of air for the addition of pipes. The problem is most of these guys are jetting too big, therefore, having to open up there box to get the mixture correct for the larger size jets, hence, just wasting fuel and decreasing their mileage. Do what was recommended by DMC and you wont have any problems. HMF suggest's the same procedure and it works just great for mine, although my jets are drilled a little larger do to elevation requirement. Good luck and enjoy the difference of pipes!

Desertsportsman, I tend to agree with you on this one. I would think any performance exhaust company would capitalize on any additional HP that they could be made from airbox mods in concert with thier exhaust as it would only increase the performance, marketability, sales, and ultimitly cash into the owners pocket. They have the dynos and engineers/design team......

I am still waiting to see if anyone has any info on the clutch spring. There have been many discussions in the past but still no rock solid information on what spring from where to use........If someone has the info, please let the cat out of the bag. I got a HOT SEAT green spring about a week ago but have never used it because some said it engages too hard.

Just talked with one of the guys at HOTSEAT this morning about this green spring. He says he has tried it on the VForce and the results were good and not harsh on the tranny.

C'mon guys, give me some of your feedback......

RC3--I had the purple one ordered and then read some posts hear that said it engaged to harshly? I called Hotseat and they said, yeah, it would not be a good spring for the VForce and that they thought the green one would be best, but at that time they had not even tried it on the VForce. They have since (or at least they say they have) and are still stating the green is a good one according to thier own testing.

It is tough to know what to do as there seems to be a lot of misinformation.....
