Default CLEANING V FORCE AIR FILTER

Just wondering what V Force owners were using to clean their air filters. The manual says to clean it in high point flash solvent...uh what the heck is that? I put on over 300 miles on the V over July 4th weekend in upstate New York in very dusty conditions. I was very impressed with my V Force.....no problems to speak of. The quad is perfect for blasting down twisty tight trails and old dirt roads. Just pitch her sideways around the corner, nail the throttle and blast down the straight to the next corner...just awesome. The fuel consumption was fair considering the size of the engine and the small tank. I was able to get 45-50 miles per tank. The suspension felt stiff to me. I set the front shocks on the softest setting which did help. I need to adjust the rear shock next. Everywhere I stopped with the V Force, people would come over to check it out and all were impressed. I think it is going to be a very popular machine......

I could not stand the stock stiff suspension anymore so I got some Elkas. What an improvement!

just buy some stuff at your dealer or online. there are many different brands of stuff labeled "foam filter cleaner" and "foam filter oil" for about $5 for 14 oz.

gas works too but you still gotta buy filter oil. I wonder if you could do it all with some 2 stroke gas hmm....

Mister

Just use dawn dishwashing liquid with a bucket of water to clean and degrease. It's cheap and easy and it is what the parts dept at my dealer said to use. Then recharge the filter with filter oil from the dealer.

As a matter of fact.....just got back in from the garage doing just that....
