V Force Noise
#1
Hello all, I have about 3-5 hours easy hours on my V Force 700. I have never rode this bike in any water. Inside my plastic trans housing there is a metallic scratchng sound while starting off from a dead start or while accelerating such as up a hill ( it is not the gear backlash everyone else is describing, this is definatly a different sound ), its sounds amost like a tube of BB's are loose inside the housing. My friend said that this is normal for automatics because the spring is releasing for the clutch on acceleration. What do you think? Also i just noticed today that while idiling for a second or two in gear the belt inside the housing is making a slight to moderate sqwealing sound that changes in pitch, soft then loud when left idling in Drive or Reverse. Whn the bike is place in nuetral or I start to tap the gas in gear the sound goes away. Is this normal? If i do need warranty work can I take this bike to any Kawasaki dealer? even though I got good deal I am not impressed with this dealers service department. Thanks so much for any help.
Kevin.

My dealer has had a couple of v's and p650's for the same noise you are talkting about. They can never figure out whats wrong. They take it apart pull the clutches put it back together and the noise goes away.
The squealing in gear is normal for a properly adjusted belt unless it does it realy bad. For best belt function/longevity i adjust my belt the same way even though it is a little tight. Just put it in nuetral when your parked.
