Stock V vs. Stock Raptor results
#1
My friend and I each bought new bikes two months ago. I bought a Vforce and he bought a raptor. Here are the stock vs. stock results.
I weigh 200lbs and he weighs 165. I am an intermediate rider he was an expert and is now an advanced intermediate
Dirt and gravel drag.
Vforce leads up to 40 mph then he can pass me by a bike lenght or two and then we top out at about the same top speed. Must be within 1 mph of each other
Sand (vforce has 9 paddle 23" extream haulers, raptor has 20" 8 paddle extream haulers)
Sand flat drag:
I win up to about 40 mph then he passes me and seems to be able to maintain a better advantage on top speed. He slightly pulls away at top speed. Maybe 1 - 2 mph faster.
Sand uphill drag ~100 yards
A tie. One of us can win if the other screws up the start.

hey my buddy sean(techtip101) and I both have been riding about the same and we both have new quads, he has v and i am raptor. when we were at florence i could take him at the flats, i would pull away in third gear and then when i hit fourth it was all over,
comp hill was always a tie, he would usually get ahead at start but i would pull up next to him on the top
we havent raced yet on dirt, we tries one time but i was throwing alot of rocks in the start and he stopped. i think it would be a close race, i think v force gets out faster but once i hit third i would pull up next and then fourth i think i would pull away.
some guys say that v forcew wins on dirt but havent raced there yet!

The difference on the start may be that I have 23" paddles. I always beat him off the line in the sand or dirt. But like you said 3rd gear is the transition point.
He is going to go down one tooth on front sproket for better low end acceleration.

whats the first mod that you are doing to your v??? sean is going to wait for the cdi then do some mods, he wanted to do airbox but you cant take the lid of the airbox because of the computer and it screws up the airflow. i am doing sprockets when they getold and then pipe.
yeah he beats me because he has haulers i have sand sharks but i always win at the end.

Dirtwheels has a big bore shootout this month. For drags they found the ds650 fastest, then Raptor, then Vforce. And they gave the overall to the rappy. The highlights for the Vforce: they said it was the most fun for most drivers and it handles better than the ds650 (but not raptor). Funny how the ds650 was the fastest in a straight line but lost on the overall conclusion. I think all three are great bikes, and it really depends on what you plan to do with them. As for me, I still haven't lost a drag race in the sand, yet. Maybe it's my big paddles, they really launch off the start. My friend has a raptor and we race all the time, but he's got little 20" haulers. I think they're too small.
