I hunt in the winter but ride everyday that i dont hunt i have open fields hardly any mud. p700 is to expensive but could a V climb hill good i mean slow rocky hills alittle clay. Could i get mud flares and a rack i have a foreman and had a 250ex and I can ride im not a beginner by any means. I'm worried it would be to difficult to used for hunting. This is one of the last quads I would want for hunting. It is loud! Might be good on a deer drive though..lol. I would not go to the trouble of adding racks, and flaps. The only rack I have seen for one is a six pack....so I guess that would limit you to hunting rabbits, and squirrels.

 

i guess it would be better than nothing. but theres definetly better choices. you might be able to pull a small cart. were are you going to put your weapon at?

If your a hair short on cash for a P700 find a dealer with a P650. They are letting them go cheap since the 700 was released. I have seen them as low as $6100 OTD.

 

I would also recommend finding a dealer with leftover '03 P-650's. I have seen prices as low as $5700 + tax OTD, reported on the net. I would do a little hunting ---of P-650 prices...........

 

I don't see why you couldn't climb some slow steep hills with a V. They have more than enough torque to pull you and your gear wherever you want to go. You may want to replace the tires with something more agressive. Nothing will beat a good 4x4 when it comes to slow moving hills, but if you like the V, I would say go for it. Racks are also available for it on rockymountainatv.com. Just select the brand/model and click on "unit" and there they are.

 

Hunting is one of the times when a crossed over atv is going to do poorly. A good sport/ute can run sport pretty good, and utility really good. A 2wd sport quad isn't going to work very well in the utility section. It will get you uphill with low idle, but trying to drag an elk up that same hill is going to be a pita. At best you'll end up with a mud covered animal from the wheels spinning and kicking up mud. If you end up prairie (like grassland not kawi) hunting, a 2wd will work fine.

 

Recon Stomper, I bought my vforce for riding/hunting. I like it because you can throw a hitch on it and a rack. I actually bought a 400 EX rack out of the back of a magazine and was able to get it to fit my V. I can send you a pic if you let me know your email. I wanted something I could keep up with my buddies who ride banshees, and yz's. I don't do a lot of hill climbing but I know the V will drag my deer back to camp and rack is big enough to carry my gear out to my stand. If your leaning more towards slower riding and hauling large things, elk, trailers, etc then go with the prarie they are sweet! I had a really hard time deciding on which quad to get but in the end I went with the V mainly because it was a little lighter and faster on the trails.
