Default V-force SMOKING like crazy!!!

I was at the dunes this weekend and wasn't out thier 10 minutes, when my V started BELLOWING smoke!!! I shut it off and checked all the vital signs and everything looked in order. Then I started it up and ran it , and it cleared up, but everytime I got into a harh powerslide or something it would start missing, and here would come the thick WHITE smoke!! KNow if it was a plug fouled,or carb flooding it should be black smoke!, but this smoke was WHITE and ALOT of it!!

What gives???

I still have warranty on it, but I would still like to get an Idea of what the problem might be. Head-gasket???(the fan is always pretty much running).

It sounds like you've managed to get water into you airbox and its made its way from one of the vent lines into the crankcase. I'd drain the oil immediately and put in new oil, run it for a while and then change it again to be safe.

Default V-force SMOKING like crazy!!!

I had trouble w/ mine blowing white smoke (thick)....big cloud for about 30-45 seconds (felt like an eternity).

What I found is that maybe in the process of doing wheelies some oil crept over from the crankcase to the air box. Check your air box and see if there is excess oil. This is what I believe caused mine to smoke. Someone suggested putting an in-line oil/air separator on the breather hose from the crank case to the air box. But, since mine has not blown smoke like that again (and I've put many hours on it since) I have not worried about it anymore.

Hope this helps

My prairie did the same thing after doing several donuts. There was a little too much oil in the motor and it made its way to the airbox.

Man its good to here that this is an easy problem I'm sure thier people at LS that are thinking that the V-forces are junk cause of all the White smoke that was behind me LOL!!

OK, so what is the recommended oil level then??? alittle less than called for? or is thier some "home remidy" that I can do ,so that this wont happen again.

Like I said...there is an in-line air / oil separator that I understand you can buy at any auto-parts store. I saw a picture of on installed on an atv....and once upon a time there was a post in here on it w/ the part number. Since my Force didn't do this anymore...I have forgotten about it.

Sorry I can't give more info....I did a search and didn't find the old post.

Shotgun--- Water was my thoughts, too. OR, what about air filter oil? I have seen ATF burn white, wonder if A/F oil burns white ? I also wonder if the smoke was a light blue/white, as in a little crankcase oil slopped in to the air filter/intake area?

DONT SCARE ME!!!

I will check the water levels again to see if I lost some. But I do remember seeing oil coming out of my tail pipe. I hope its just the oil thing
