Would it be beneficial to spray my belt with berryman's belt dressing next time I'm in there or would it be bad to get that stuff up in there? just wondering. Supposedly it gives belts better grip and conditions the material. I don't know, just a thought.

No, I think it will clog with dust and harden into chunks like it did on the pulleys on my truck a few years ago. I had to scrape the pulleys to get the buildup off.

Some people clean the pulleys with brake cleaner. Other people clean the belt too.

If you keep it tight, avoid high range and have installed the black spring it won't slip and there won't be any need to clean the belt or spray stuff on it.

Mudfoot, I have tried the belt dressing before for extra grip. It only works once or maybe twice when giving it WOT from a start. After the second time its gone. You wont notice any difference trail riding. If you do decide to use it for drag racing or pulling contest, "only benifit to it" then only spray the belt. There is no need to spray the pulleys. I did this the first time and it actually made the belt slip. Also, it will sling most of it off onto the convertor case anyway. Brake cleaner works extremely well in removing the belt dressing from the pulleys and convertor cover. I never cleaned the belt with it.
