Default Dragstrip Results

Here are the results for a trip to the drags. I got hammered all night by a stock ds and a modified ds, only 3 showed up to run. As a result Vforce did'nt have a good showing. I let my friend who was riding the modded ds ride mine to compare how a 150lb kid and a 290lb rider compare, here it is. If anyone else has any 1/4 mile times please post them and your mods, Thanks.
Run Time Temp Baro 60ft 330ft 1/8 mph@1/8 1000ft 1/4 MPH
1 7:49 88 30.71 2.147 6.292 10.211 60.83 13.838 17.089 67.90
2 8:28 83 30.77 2.077 6.194 9.990 62.53 13.536 16.727 69.14
3 9:50 79 30.75 2.179 6.621 10.693 58.66 14.451 17.813 65.50
4 10:13 78 30.63 2.521 6.399 11.024 59.47 14.714 18.003 67.09
There were 2 other runs for which I didn't get time slips. Run number 2 was with the 150lb rider. Runs 1-3 were made with a homemade wheelie bar, and it really worked. Run 4 was made w.o. wheelie bar.I didn't get my pink spring in time so I don't have any results with it. The 700 never hit the rev limiter, but it didn't pull past the 1/4 either, I kept it down. I was disappointed with the outting, my old polaris 400 was worked and ran the same #'s. But after licking my wounds I realized the reason I bought a new quad was for better reliablity and to be able to trail ride with my wife. This quad does all of that and has reverse (something I kept reminding the ds's). So the lesson learnedick your races(I can kill them on trails). Lose weight.

I have 2 time slips for the modded ds. Mods include:Hmf pipe and jet kit,K&n filter. He was way into the rev limiter.

Run Time Temp Baro 60ft 330ft 1/8 mph@1/8 1000ft 1/4 MPH
1 7:49 88 30.47 2.147 6.027 9.466 69.77 12.620 15.476 76.44
3 9:50 79 30.75 2.132 6.003 9.426 70.34 12.565 15.422 76.38

I hope some of this info helps someone. If not it is FYI

Maybe I should go over a couple of things so I am not missinterpreted. My runs were at 2200 feet with solid clay base road with some gravel not much to conduce wheel spin mostly hard pack. The V700 that I was racing had a modified ignition that would allow total rpm with no rev limiter. It also had timeing retard for Nos the Nos was at 20 and 25% injected dry with extra fuel sprayed to limit detonation. Horsepower ratings were not of a concern as I have gone with higher ratios on my 650 with fantastic results. I did not get a speed for the 350 foot run as the quad will hit 9500 rpm in that distance. From running it on pavement with my wife in tow at 9500 was at 95mph. So I gather it would also be in the 95 mph at the 350 foot gate. I do not need wheely bars as I can set the clutch so the quad will have a 4 - 6 inch rise on the front end on take off keeping that torque untill the speed and momentum allow for the front end to drop gently still be under power with control. I have had as much as 125 HP output from my 650 I have been fortuneate to learn how to handle the output of the 650 and adopted the technology to the V700. I have put into practice what I have learned from old world drag racing with belt drive Harleys mine had nearly 350 HP.

I am not sure what the V700 will handle for rpm I would think very close to 12000 rpm with heavier valve springs and such. I am very confident that the V700 can do 10,500 rpm in 350 feet with little work torque is not the problem as there is oodles of low end the upper end is the question. If I were given a motor I would like to experiment to see where total rpm destruction lies. Just to see how far a person can go before one must protect ones child producing area LOL.

I've been watching Alltoys posts and taking notes, already implemented his jetting and intake mods with my HMF duals. Results with that alone are startlingly better than stock. I am not personally interested in sacrificing rideability to create a dedicated, drag racer so there may be a limit for me no matter what. Either way, this is fun to watch.

I am looking at buying duals this week for my V. Can you tell me what jetting and intake mods were done with your hmf duals? And how do the hmf duals sound and perform. Thanks

A V-Force without a primary spring change doesn't belong on a dragstrip, its being held back too much by the clutch to ever show what it can really do.

casino, The HMF duals sound great! I have done no jetting as of yet or air box, and it runs great. Plugs look good.
