Lakota vs. Mojave
#2
I don`t know about being on the same frame it does look that way though.I have a 95 mojave and my friend has a 96 lakota. The lakota has a 300cc air cooled autotrans were the mojave has a 250cc liquid cooled manual trans. The lakota also has electric start with recoil backup the mojave only has kick start. The lakota is heavier though. As far as which one is faster I would say the mojave, but I never raced my friends lakota.I have ridden both machines and for speed I would take the mojave.

well i can tell you the mojave is probably faster my friend has a 98 mojave and it beats my other friends 97 300EX everytime the drag race....and both are stock ..so i'm pretty sure it will beat a lakota..

The Lakota and the Mojave are just about the same but the Lakota has the Bayou motor in it
as far as top end they are fairly close but the Mojave is faster, and on the bottem end the Mojave eats the Lakota alive.as far as witch one is better that would be up to the ridder and what type of ridding you do, and what kind of frills you want if you want a one with all the goodies such as eletric start and auto. clutch go with the Lakota or if you want a pure sports Quad go with the Mojave.....the choise is yours

The Mojave and Lakota are almost exactly the same. the major differences are the Engines, Carbs, and Swingarm. The Lakota has a 1" or 2" longer swingarm. From what I've heard/seen that should be just about it, (Including all the info in the previous posts.) My Mojave before I put a smaller front (Countershaft) sprocket in it, would whoop my friend's TRX250X in a drag, now that I went to an 11 tooth up front, it's pretty darn slow, I'd suggest staying with the 12 tooth front sprocket.
