Does anybody know anything about the motor in the KLX300R? By the specifications it looks like it may be the same motor only more cc's.Does anyone know what the trans ratios are?I would like to have more power and speed than my 250.If anyone has any insight on this or any motor swap for the mojave let me know. I dont want to make many(or any) modifications. Thanks in advance.

The Lakota engine is 300cc's and will fit into a Mojave chassis. In fact, the Lakota has the same chassis, so it MIGHT use the same engine mounts. Concerning the KLX300R I have no info for you. The downside of the Lakota 300 is that it's not DOHC, but that also makes it cheaper to maintain. There are good and bad parts to everything. I think your best bet for more power without modifications (which, often make your atv unreliable) is to get a more powerful ATV. You could wait and see what Kawie releases for 2001, or move to some other manufacturer which has an ATV with the features you desire.
