Default oil light....

Watch your oil light mine came on and the second it came on I shut my bike off and it turns out my oil pump broke. I would say the light was flashing for about 5-10 seconds and my oil was very hot. I got 18400km out of the pump. My dealer was shocked and thought the sensor went bad until we tore it appart.

What oil were you using? Have you ever used 20w50 in it?

nyroc, has 20w-50 been known to be to thick? I know I tried the mobil v-twin 20w-50 and it became noticably harder to start. Im talking about summer time too. I now use the Mobil 10w-40 mxt or whatever it is. It starts great now.

I hear rumors of pump problems, but they are rare. I would think that 20w50 synth wouldn't get too thick in cold, but 20w50 dino oil turns real thick.

I guess I wouldn't know what to do about the pump other than shut it down and tow it home. If I ever see that light, I am gonna take it seriously.
