if Arctic Cat could take a Z400, change the plastic and seat (giving it a better look and ergonomics), why couldn't Suzuki do this with the Prairie? So it's basically the same machine underneath! They sure as heck could have made a couple changes to make them slightly different (plastic, racks, tires/rims, lights, EFI, manual transmission).
Just my .02 on what could be done. When they can make these changes, they will have a better machine in the end. If they are sharing the R & D expense in the end, these changes are minimal and I wouldn't have a problem if they resembled each other.

Hard to blame Suzuki for copying the Prairie....but clearly, this is what they've done. It sure does say an awful lot about the level of desperation and the lack of innovation at Suzuki. If not for the picture....this would file perfectly into the unbelievable folder. Yikes!

Suzuki isn't chainging anything on their 700 becuase it is being totally made at the Kawasaki plants, and then are just changing the color of the plastic, and the stickers a lil bit there for them, otherwise they would have to charge to much for all the extra work...

I think this kinda sucks, instead of suzuki, kawi, and to some degree artic cat all offering us their own big bore atv, and giving us consumers more options and choices to choose from they are all selling the same basic thing well, the artic cat is a tad bit different.
Just think if Yahama and Honda decided to do this, then us comsumers would have basically 3 choices.
instead of 6.
I will be interested in seeing the price of the new suzuki bike, will it more expensive?
