when i was riding the other day i had to help my friend turn his YFZ around and i left my kfx700 running and in gear. after about 5 mins it started whinning or something. i have a EPI red clutch spring in it and we been riding a while. whats this noise mean? is it bad?

 

Was it also idleing high? Did it seem to want to creep? If the answer to either of those questions are yes then the belt is trying to engage because it is either to tight, idle is to high or maybe you got a bad spring or something. I'm sure some other people will come here and help too as I am new to this clutch business.

 

i didnt notic it tryin to move.. im goin to ride some today to try to see if it idles high or something.. ill get back to this laster

 

my 650 does this to, it is from the belt being tight it is a faint chirping noise, mine will only do it after i ride it for 2-3 hours. from what i understand its a good thing

 

Yeah, mine did this also. Its a good idea to leave it in neutral when idleing. It will go away as the belt wears.

 

yea today i only rode for lik 10 mins round my house and it didnt do it. but thanks for the info now i wont worry bout it
