Default New Custom Snorkel for the V

I was wandering around Home Depot on Friday and came across some 3 foot lenths of flexable pipe they had for sale in the Central Vacumn dept. These are for tricky corners when installing a vac system into a house. A light went on . I bought a length and took it with me to Alltoys shop Saturday. While Gary was balancing the carbs, I grabbed the air box and found that the flexable hose fits perfectly into the intake clamp. I cut a 6 " and 8" length and mounted the airbox. I can now route the air intake to anywhere it will fit infront of the airbox. I drilled another 2 .25 inch hole to the right of stock intake hole, inserted the 8 inch peice. I stuck the hose about 1/2 inch inside the airbox and snugged 2 very large cable ties around it to keep it from slidin out. I then ran a bead of silicone around the hole seam on the outside. I found several places to position both pick ups so I get cooler ram air. This extra air has allowed me to go up 5 jet sizes. With the K&N filter and twin pipes this baby really breaths free. Total cost of the snorkel mod $15.00

maybe I'm not understanding correctly, but is the air coming in from the new location filtered ??? I'm not totally familiar with the V force filter box, but if it's similar to the Prairie, the filtered air goes over the baffle, through the filter & into the box.... if the air goes directly into the filter box bottom, where is it getting filtered ????

Only those of use with the 02 prairie's have that ugly setup.LOL In 03 they changed to a canister type filters. I Beleive the V is the same. Although I think NYROK swaped his 02 airbox for a 03 box.

I installed SLP snow screens over the pickup ends. The snow screens allow air but not water. Similar to fabric outerware. The hoses then go through the front of the airbox. The air then gets filters by the filter cage inside the airbox before getting dumped down into the carbs. The air from both intakes ends up meeting in the airbox then the combined air gets filtered by the K&N.

The SKU number for the hose is 106939

XC800, I would also like to see some pics. I was thinking of doing the same thing you did. Did you notice a power increase ? I am also wondering if I will get a noticable gain if I do that and rejet since I still have the stock exhaust or will that let in too much air and not run very well. Can you also tell me what the Alltoys stage 1 kit is ?

XC800,

I talked to Alltoys on the phone last night and he in lightened me with tons of info that made my brain hurt today!
I have been thinking about how I too can run two hoses in throw the top of my 2002 airbox. I would be interested in seeing some pictures also. Tommorrow I will stop buy Home Depot and see if I can find some of that hose you speak of. Are you using the TPI valves in the top also?
Thanks for the info!

I will take some photos this weekend and post them.

Yes, Alltoys is a wealth of information. He has forgotten more than I will ever know!!!

I think I owe him my first born for all the help he has given me. What he does not know that my first born will be entering college next year
