Just wanted to see what people out there thought the best mod they have done to thier prarie. Myself i think the K&N filter did the most with mine . I will rate my mods. in the order of what I think made the most increase in power:
1. Diamond G holeshot module
2. Diamond G snorkel
3. HMF slip on exhause & jetting
4. K&N filter

Dont know if that is accurate but that is what it seemed to me. Have a goodun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

By far the DG Holeshot modulator. In stock form, from what I know now, that is the best. Even better than the ATRs/C-series combo.

Give me the hole shot mod and stock tires any day.

IMO-- A#1---TIRES are the best mod for a Prairie 650/700. Namely, ATR's, unless you are gonna do serious mudding.
#2 IMO, would be clutch spring(s)--- the black(driven) spring, and whatever drive spring is right for your type of riding.

Question on the exhaust mod,did you notice a significant increase in the noise level?
I think I have seen this thread before but I'll ask anyway,with the K&N filter and exhaust mod,did you have to do any re-jetting?

 

cleve-- I can answer your question. The exhaust mod DOES make the bike louder, but it is not obnoxious. It is what I would describe as a "mellow/throaty" note. It is fairly quiet as long as you are not on the throttle. I did the mod to my 02 P-650, and used the Twin-Air filter. Nice combo. NO rejet was needed.

 

Without a second thought - Progressive Suspension preload adjustable springs. My stock machine had enough power for fast trail riding but the front suspension was weak.

Go to Lowes or a welding store to get a MIG for the exhaust mod, or drive to my place. I can do it pretty fast.
