Default Are you using hand grip warmers?

I think I've got it now...

Anyone using the hand grip warmers from Cabelas or any other source? Do you have to cut off your factory grips to fit these in their place? Wondering how effective and durable they are.

Thanks.

Your so lucky to live in alaska...oh yeah, about your question...I personally don't have them on my quad but yes you'll have to remove the old grips. They will work well but I would recommend some sort of air deflector with them, a windshield or plastic handguards would work. And about the durability....this depends on the quality of the connections on the wiring. I would solder any connections and then shrink wrap them. If you do that the warmers should last a long time. Happy trails.....Burntoast

Does the town of Sicily or however its spelled really exist in AK, the town from the show northern exposure? Just wondering

Thanks for the reply. I'll take your advice if I get them.

Northern Exposure was filmed in Washington State (I think). No Cicely, Ak. No Janine Turner either, unfortunately.

Hot grip has a good line of heated grips. I had them on my 96 sportsman and the guy that bought it said the grips are still working and I have them on my Prairie now I love them.. Oh yeah when you put them on use glue for heated grips or the SLOW setting epoxe glue if you don't when they get hot they will come loose. Don't forget the thumb warmer also. Hardwood

We have the Cabela's ones on my wifes ATV and she loves them. They put out quite a bit of heat. We havn't had them long enough to judge durability. We did have to reove the old grips for the install and clean off the old glue.
