Default LONGER WHEEL STUDS FOR 650 PRAIRIE

I need to test my new set of Goodyear radials, & have mounted them on a custom set of bead lock wheels... the wheels have an extra layer of material in the center section, & my stock lug bolts are just a little too short for me to be comfortable with, for aggressive riding, does anyone know where I can get a set that will go into the splined hubs of my 650 Prairie, but are 1/4" or so longer ???

any help would be greatly appriciated... thanks, WAM

I would go to my local auto parts store, with old stud, and calipers in hand, and ask to root around in the foriegn car wheel stud bins.

TRX450... thanks for the sugestion, I'm aware that several cars may use the 10mm studs, I was just hoping that since I'm still all busted up ( after my motorcycle accident ), that someone may have already been to the parts store ??? WAM

Guess I missed your post(if you did post) about your m/c accident. Hope you recover quickly. What happened? You didn't hit a deer at 70MPH, like I did, did you?

A deer at 70 mph ??? you're lucky to be still here...

I was training on my quad, 2 weeks ago ( for the 12 hours race ), & decided to take a cool down ride on my '03 KLR 650... long story short, I stripped off all my sweaty safety gear, & grabbed our "little" dog ( he loves to go riding )... about 3-4 miles down the paved road from our farm, the dog leash ( which I never usually leave on him ) snaked its way out of my lap, & got caught in the chain of the bike... it pulled the dog off the side of the bike ( we aren't able to have kids, so this dog is like our baby ), I was more concerned about letting the dog down easy, & making sure he didn't get dragged into the rear wheel... in doing so, I got turned around fully sideways on the bike, & in the process, ended up turning the handlebars to full lock... this flipped me over the bike... the bike mouse trapped over me, & ended up smashing my foot between the road, & one of the foot pegs...

fortuneatly, I was only going about 40 mph, & yes, the dog was fine... even the bike was fine... me, I got a broken bone in my left wrist, broken right collar bone & ribs, & a smashed right foot, that included over 11 broken bones... I guess I'm lucky I'm healing well... but sux that I had to miss the 12 hours race...

hope you recovered fully from you're high speed encounter with the deer ... WAM

I, too, was VERY,VERY lucky. I hit the deer a glancing-blow on the side. It sent me and the old BSA 650 Lightning ALL over the 4-Lane., but I hung on, and didn't go down! I came away with a 7 stitch gash in the back of my left calf. I guess the deer shoved my leg upwards, in to one of the metal side covers! I STILL dream about it!!! That happened 30 years ago.
Glad to hear that you are on the mend. If you get to any of the GNCC races in Ohio. Look me up. We can ride Wayne Nat'l. Forest, Athens District. I ride very close to where they hold one of the GNCC events, in Millfield OH.

OK ... no help... I redrilled my hubs ( they were harder than heck 3-4 drill bits later ), I installed 7/16" X 1.5" auto lug bolts... then redrilled all my wheels... I used a 29/64" drill bit for the hubs, to fit the splines, on the lug bolts... then 7/16" drill bit for the wheels... now alls better, & stronger than stock... can't wait to put more hours on those new Goodyear radials...
