Default P650, Possible bad main bearing

I had my p650 in the shop because of a loud whining/grinding noise coming from the clutch area. The mechanic replaced both clutch bushings and called it good. When I went to pick it up, it was making the same noise. The only difference being when I dropped it off I had the cover removed, so it was alot louder. They didn't fix anything so I left it there. They told me, the only other thing it could be is the main bearing in which they would have to replace the whole engine side cover, which is pretty expensive. They just happen to have another p650 with only 7 miles on it with a bad main bearing. I could kick myself for not getting the extended warranty. Instead of getting it fixed, I'm goona see if they will take it off my hands. I had just bought new plastics for it to just waiting to be put on. What a bummer.
