Default Mojave speed???

Hey for the guys that have Mojaves, does 51.5mph top speed with a 300lb guy on it sound about right??? And no I dont weight 300lbs. A friend of mine has a Mojave and thats what the GPS said it was running. I think it would go alot faster if I were on it though.

Thats cool. I rode it, and man that thing will really rip for being only a 250 four-stroke.

The engine is governed and wont rev over a certain rpm. Usually 55-58 mph.

I may be wrong but I do not think that rider weight has anything to do with top speed as long as you are on perfectly level ground. However it will change how fast you get to top speed. At least this is what I was told by a physics major.

Well that would be true, but there is a possibility that it would lower it due to the fact that since the rider weighed so much, actually over 300lbs to be honest, that the engine would run out of horsepower before it ran into the governer.

A tractor trailer truck has a lower top speed when its fully loaded with a trailer on the back than it does when its not pulling a trailer at all. A guy I work for has one with a 550 Caterpiller turbo deisel and it will run about 85 - 90mph depending on the load tops, give or take. But with just the truck not halling anything it went 104mph max speed.

Im not sure how fast it went, but when I was on it and had it wide open, it felt like I was doing more than 51.5mph.

With a normal sized rider, around 150lbs (because thats about the size this quad was meant for) it goes about 55. 51 sounds pretty accurate for a 300lb rider

you could put an elephant on a mojave at flat ground and i gaurantee it would be slower. just an example that weight does matter.
