Default Well, the holeshots...

are no hell in the snow. I took my bike out yesterday on the TC pipeline, one of my favorite places to ride, lots of variations and pretty much wide open running the whole time. Any time I was in the snow I was losing at least 10MPH because of spinning and talk about squirrely. Tons of fun still.

Anyone recommend a snow tire that they have used on the V-Force, or is it still too early for that yet? I'm thinking about trying Realtors, any opinions.

I was out yesterday on our local trail system rippin it up with Alltoys. I was on my stock tire V. He was on his new P700 with a set of Outlaws on. I found the V to be awesome in about 5-6 inches of snow. Yes you slip and slide a bit but I was able to go up some nice hills no problem I think the mind set has to change to one of riding very loose sand. You will not get the hook up like dry dirt trail. You MUST keep those tires spinning at all times. Then I found the worked pretty well. any more snow and I will just go sledding.

Speaking of which, I took Alltoys to some stubble hills before our quad ride and gave him my sled to ride. I said "hop on and giver".

I rode his P700 with outlaws and he was on my XC 800 with a 1.75 141 track. After about 10 minutes all he did was shake his head and say " no comparison" His parting words when we finished our quad ride later on was "how much for a 600cc sled??"!!!

I have been to Thunder Bay several times and you guys get snow. So......when the snow goes to 10 or more. GO SLEDDING!!!!

Well last year on my Z400 I found that the Pro Wedges work well in snow. I will try them on my V-Force very soon as we are starting to get a fair amount of snow now. I was riding my P650 with outlaws in the snow drifts on Saturday and I could not get stuck, the snow was hard but it was major FUN!!! Anyway, time to go. I'll let everyone know how my pro wedges work.

2lman,
NO comparison between a sled and a quad. Once the snow gets more than 6 inches on a 2 wheel drive modded quad there is no traction no matter what your tires are you will eventually get hung up. A 4x4 quad with deep lug tires can go at least 12 inches of powder they will eventually get high centered as well.

This was my first time on a sled and it happened to be on a hot rod 800 mountain sled long track and more suspension than a well hung Banshee LOL. Truly once the snow gets a little deep put the quad away and enjoy the freedom of a newer type sled you will not be disappointed.

XC800,
I had a blast, I was on an old Alpine back in the 70's one with 2 tracks and a single ski. It was fun but a tank at the same time. Your sled gave me goosebumps and not because of the cool air it was a rush. When I came home I told wifey about my adventure I had a smile on my face and before I could say another word she said NO, absolutely NO, and not that kind of no either you now the one that there may just be a chance you will win LOL. At least with a maybe kind of no you can in a certain length of time get what you want LOL. This was a KILLER type of no, so it will take a little longer for her to say yes.........LOL. An 800 is definitely out of my league but a 600 might be interesting........ a year but you never know it may take longer but there may be a future 600 in the Toy Shop.

Maxxis Sur-Trax worked real well on my 02 P-650. Never had the 'Force in the snow.

Alltoys:

We COULD try the classic " New Toy 101 Lesson" say to her, "but dear, I am only storing it for a friend for the winter"!!

Or we could replace the cowling with something old and beat up and say " Some guy owed me $200 bucks and this was his way of paying me off!!

alltoys- When someone from our family gets married and it is time for the groom to feed cake to his wife...we always tell him "it is always easier to ask for forgiveness then it is for permision"

LOL,Alltoys, you would have that 600 turned into something bigger within two weeks!. You better shoot for a little bigger.

I just sold my open mod 1000 drag sled engine to a guy just north of you(Ft Mac Murray),It has about 260hp,MSD ign,etc and turns 5.10's in 660ft at about 130mph. Something like that would probably keep your interest for a little longer(until you figure out how to put a supercharger on it) lol.

Holy **** and they worry about quads hurting us...imagine hitting packed snow at 130mph.
