Default no many problems with 650

let me just start by saying that the 650/700 is the best qaud out there. but i am having so many problems with mine that i am thinking of buying something elso. thank god i got the extended warrenty on it or i would be poor by now. i got it new in march of 02 and right from the start it was not right. forst it was the choke cables(that was about a month for the dealer to figure out and finally fix) then it was the carb boots. then the carbs again still not right. then it was ok for the summer and then i lost the front end( spider gears exploded they told me) then i used it for a month and then i lose the four wheel drive (servo went bad) then back for a couple months and then fouling plugs like crazy. then after that engine locking up from gas leaking past carb. and finally the newest one entire quad just dies out in driveway no power, no start, battery ok fuses ok. don't know? back to dealer today for the 15th time in a year and a half. does this sound like a problem? yes it does. dealer is working with me really good they compinsate me on aftermarket stuff and try to rush me to the head of the line for repair, but it feels like i got stuck with a lemon. i called kawasaki a dozen times they say there is no lemon law for quads and there is nothing they can do. does anyone have any ideas. please help me i don't want to get rid of it.

My 2 Prairies have been dead reliable. I think yours was a lemon.
Maybe your dealer will give you a decent trade in on a P-700.

Sorry buddy for the bad luck. I would check out that lemmon law thing some more and not just take the dealer's word. You deffinately got a lemmon! I owned mine for a year, and that was an incredible machine. Not 1 single problem. I had to sell it for financial reasons but plan on replacing it with a nother prairie this spring. Again, I am sorry for your bad luck with your machine, but that is not normal to have this many problems with a prairie. Now if you had said polaris...............
Good luck.

Check with your state's Attorney General's Office. They will be a better source of info on the applicability of lemon laws. You might be surprised. Documentation will be very important if a lemon law covers you.

I too have had multiple problems with my 650 although I do love her so. Just had the engine rebuilt due to cracked rear piston and a bearing bad. Had it back for one week. Needs to go to the shop now for rear axle seals leaking and the swing arm is making a terrible noise. Glad I have the extended warrenty. It has been in the shop way too many times. I also have done numerous repairs myself.

the factory has zero to do with lemon law filing. Talk to you state AG office for procedure. Most places it's like a three strikes thing. Same problem three or more times can enact the lemon law. Good luck.

or you could just prod at the dealer until he makes a screaming deal on a 700...........say your bike plus a grand???

Default too many problems with 650

I've had my share of problems myself. Ibought mine new in Feb 03.
sice then I've had 4 diferent shaft sealsstart leaking, 1 belt desintergrate
at 2600 Km , rear shock let go, bushings in clutch seised(whole clutch replaced)
and blown head gasket on second piston. Don't get me wrong, I love
my Prairie 650, but these problems are wearing down my patience.
I take a lot of ribbing from my freinds because of all the problems
but on the trails , I'm still the machine to recon with. Others try without
succes to pass through the same holes that I go through with ease. I end up
pulling them out ( my payback for all the ribbing). My dealer also wants to
trade it for the 700 but for a price. I don't want to trade .
I'm just hopeing I'm done with the problems.
