my p 650 went in because of a tapping noise. and they told me the drivers went bad. and they didn't know if it would be covered under warranty. does anybody have any info on this.

Never heard of such a thing called a driver are you sure you heard them correctly?

Could they have said Driven... ?

they are refering to the belt sheaves, one sheave is the driver sheave the other is the driven sheave.

 

its a tapping noise and the drivers have something to do with the clutch for the belt

 

well they want to charge me 650- 700 to do the job should this be covered under warranty

You better look it up under nyrocs site , it will give you a lot more info about the clutch then i will ever knew.
I believe you will need a puller so check it out. sorry i cant be of more help, i have changed the belt and shims but that is about it.

 

nyroc site is no longer. Will be missed greatly.

 

turns out NYROC was using his site to try to extort a couple quads out of kawi. it was a nice site with good info but cant agree with why he took it down.
