Default calling Mojaveaddict or any hi-perf. mojaves

I have a question, what gearing do you run on your mojaves, i have a 13 to 41 arrangement and it works but it had to be rigged up to work a long time ago and now the chain broke like i knew it was going to, my question is what is the best gearing i should have for a mojave with my motor and power, i want to keep the 13 tooth front but i dont want to have the stock gearing either, i figured out that the mojave has to have an even number sprocket and an odd number sprocket to work just right, well i have the 13 and i was wondering if their is a way to get a 40 tooth back sprocket, a guy quoted me at 89 dollars for a custom one but i dont have the money to get that done so any help is appreciated, thanks!

Sorry I did not see this earlier. You do not have to have an odd and even number sprocket. You can use any combination you want. You must adjust the chain length as needed though. The best ratio depends on motor power and most importantly rear tire size. you can get about any size mojave sprocket from Greg at CWR 717-637-1907.

Your 13/41 setup would be the same as stock gearing with stock 22 inch tires if you run 20 inch tires for example. If you still run 22 inch tires it would be geared higher than stock.

thanx for the help, mojaveaddict, wehn i had my 13 to 41 gearing i had to run a chain that was a link to long, when i adjusted it with the adjusting hub it was still too loose, so i took out a link and moved the hub to give it the most slack and it was to short of a chain, i just went ahead and bought a 40 tooth back sprocket and that should make tihngs easier, thanx again guys

Sounds like ya got yer dearing down. I juggled a bit with mine too- just going up to a 13/41. On my 'jave- I've got an open element air filter and a Supertrapp pipe- that really uncorked it over stock, I must say, but can I really see anything with a KLR CDI box?

BTW the gearing of 13 to 40 seems to be the best for me, and about the KLR cdi, i responded to your other post about it
