Default how freely should wheels spin

While oiling my chain I noticed that the rear wheels realy dont spin that freely. I have a fairly new (30 hours) KFX400.. by grabbing the tire and spinning with all my might I am lucky to get 3 to 4 full rotations out of the tires. Is this normal for quads or do I need to get into it deeper to find the problem. In comparison the wheels on my car might spin for 20 seconds.

I was a dealer a couple weeks a go and they had several used z400 s . It just so happened one of the salesmen mentioned something about all their used machines had the rear calipers stick after they sit for a while but I really didnt care so i didnt ask why. Have you tried pushing the pistons back in the bores and checking the pin slides. Maybe the piston seals are to stiff and not allowing the piston to retract after brake application.

you are turning the whole axel, sprokets chain & shaft at the other end... but on your quad, that should be all correct ??? if the brakes where hanging up you should hear & see that ???? the seals on the rear end will add a little resistance, but it sounds like something is rubbing???

I think friend what you have here is called chain drag thats normal not to worry just look at the rear disc is it discolored and wore if it is worry. The frt should move much more freely than the rear ok?
