Well there is more scammers hitting ATVconnection. I am trying to sell my V Force in the classifieds here on ATVConnection and i get this email from this guy who says he is interested in buying my quad but i have to ship it to africa. What was i born yestarday? I told him i knew what was up. He wants to send me $8500 and i am supposed to send $3000 to his shipper. I will send my check and it will clear giving them $3000. Then his check wont clear leaving me in trouble. Why is there so many scamers now adays. i tell yah this makes me sick. I wish there was a way to trace this guy down. I would put an end to him let me tell yah.

Demand a certified check. Money orders can be stolen then forged.
Cashiers checks can be same.
Better yet ignore them and send them an email saying
"who are you trying to con?"
You let them and they will con the pants right off of you.

I guess i will find out if it is real or not. But i Know that there has been a ring of scammers that have been pulling this trick. I told him that if he will wait for the check to clear before i send any money to his shipper then we have a deal.

The scam is: his check will clear, at first. You would send your check for the shipping, then a few weeks later his check will be rejected, leaving you out 3 grand. I have read about several differnent scams. Like Woodsruner said, they can be real good forgories, which clear at first. A bank down the line will find it won't clear, leaving you out 3 grand. Report it to the moderators. I reported a scam on this classified board and they pulled it. The only way to do any buying or selling is to use a broker. You make a deal and you both agree to use a broker to handle the money, so no money changes hands until both parties have met the agreement made. I tried to get the guy in Spain to use a broker and he wanted a money order. I saved all the emails and thought about reporting it to the Feds. He had stolen someone e-bay account and his email address. I spoke to the guy who had his idenity stolen. He needs to report the problem.
Do your homework, don't get scammed. If it is too good to be true, it usually is.

do not even think about shipping all the way to africa. craziest idea ive ever heard. but yes it probably is a scam because nobody would pay $3000 shipping unless they were REALLY serious about it

Man, you guys are right, you don't know whats true or BS these days. I just sold my DS on ATVTrader.com and I also posted it on E-Bay, two days later, some of you brought it to my attention that some Bozo simply copied my add, lowered the price and put his own damn name on it. I notified E-Bay and 48 hours later, it was removed. It didn't help my chances of selling it though. I hear the same is true for Trader.com also. I sell alot on E-Bay, buy to, and have never had a bad transaction, but I'll think twice now about a high dollar item . Guess the ol' saying is true "If it's to good to be true, you better believe it is" Have a Great Chrismas all, Putt
