This seems to be a cheap option when it comes to CDI replacement at $233 its half the price of others I have seen and it claims it can do the same thing. Whats the story here? Has anyone tried this CDI?

 

What is it? Where is it? What does it actually do? What are the perameters they hope improve?

Thats what I was hoping you could tell me. Its an aftermarket CDI or ignition. It increases the Rev limit and changes the timing curve. Most that I have read about price in the $500 range. I was wondering why this one was so cheap and if anyone knew about it.

 

I don't know anything about this item per se... But since it advances the timing corve, you'll get more and quicker snap from down low........

 

Someone get back to me on this box. I saw one @ my local dealer. I was shocked by the price. I am in the market for a new black box. I was planning on getting a Vortex but if the Big Guns works then I'll go with the big guns.

 

Are you sure it not for the ds650??

 

They most likely make them for several models. The one I saw was plainly marked for the Z400 and KFX400.

 

I use Biggun boxes on all the 400EX's I build, gives 2-3 hp all the way through and 1000 more RPM but have not tried one on the KFX400.

Just to throw another option in the mix, White Brothers makes one as well. I have no experience with it, appears to do the same as the BG box ???

Hey Bigsaint, I have dynoed the stk, White bros and Biggun cdi boxes back to back on a 42 rwhp 400EX. The White bros showed no increase in power, just raised the rev limiter. Bigun gives 2-3hp all the way through rpm range.
