Trick ignition for V-TWIN
#1
High Lifter is said to be testing a very trick ignition for the P650,AC650, P700, AND V Force. HL has dyno runs claiming 5 hp on the bottom end, 3 hp for midrange and 1.5 hp up to 60 mph. HL says it should be for sale after the first of the year. The ignition is said to cost around $109 It is going to be a 3 wire hook up, very easy install.

You are correct on all that, but it doesnt fit the V. Different computer.. But the gains are correct, we put it on a 03 P650 and gained 5hp on the bottom and 3 mid. Im gonna put one on a Arctic Crap 650 later this week.

Its sounds strikingly similar to the DG holeshot module (most hp gains are at bottom end and it has 3 wire hook up). I wonder if HL's new product is simply a new (and improved?) version of the DG holeshot.

HhighlifterV700,
Is it a Mapper????? What wires does it hook up to, after the pick up and before the cdi?

Alltoys hit it right on the head. If it hooks up to power and the pink wire, it is a like of the DG unit. If it hooks up through the black with white stripe wire, it is a re-mapper. I bet highlifter is having the holeshot circuit made real cheap outside the USA somewhere. If it uses the speed sensor input (pink wire) than it is the same old trick. I'll go ahead and say it now, but any frequency over 53 Hz will make a holeshot work and yield the same effect. Every new copy always claims better results thru a "new" frequency but it can always be tested false. If it is a true re-mapper, than gains across the entire RPM range can be realized. Alltoys can explain what a re-mapper is better than I can. I find it a little coincidental that about four weeks ago, DG sent highlifter a few holeshots to evaluate. I guess DG couldn't give highlifter the profit margin they require. You would think with the kind of money highlifter makes, they could hire an Electrical Engineer to make real igniter replacement units for a lot of quads.

if you would like to see a dyno run look at redkaw650 pictures
the runs were done without letting the dyno come to a stop
so dg holeshot would have no effect [that's what they claim if you moving]
this is what the higher feq does
dyno run
it's the first one of the two
