Default Durablue axle bent from the get go

For all of you who are in the process of changing your rear axle, listen closely.

If you order a durablue, you will have to take your old axle out, remove the bearing and get one from a bearing vendor as Kawasaki will not sell you one (the number is written on the bearing. I think it was an NTN 6209X18.....If anyone is interested, I can double check and make sure that is correct). Then you will have to install the bearing on the new axle via the axle nut. THis is not a big deal, but adds hassle. The bearing cost me 23 bucks.

First off, the threads on the new axle for the axle nut were fubar. I had to take it to work and repair the threads. Then I get it home and install it and the sonofa***** is bent. I couldn't believe it. The da** thing wobbled almost as bad as the bent one I removed. So now I am out the shipping of the axle, the cost of the bearing, a quart of KawiChem and a 5 dollar seal. In addition, I have to ship it back to RMATV (who I convinced to at least pay for the return shipping).

I am so pissed at the pisspoor QC of durablue that I am just going back with a Kawi axle. It comes with the bearing and nut, so all you have to do is pop it in when you get it (no hassle) and RONAYERS.com has them for 200 bucks.

If anyone from DURABLUE is reading this, your QC is pathetic and I will never recommend your products to anyone.

Can anyone tell that I am pissed? Hope this helps some of you out there. If you have any other questions, gimme email me or reply and I will do what I can to help you keep from wasting time and money like I did.

If they have any sense of business, they would refund all money you lost and give you a straight axle. Bad news travels a lot faster than good news, like this bad thread. Thanks for the heads up. I don't want to deal with companies that don't know how to treat customers. I guess some people don't know where their paycheck comes from (customers).

Sounds like they sent you an axle that was already returned for being bent!

HomeDawg,
Good post, and thanks for the info. I was just wondering if you did any business with the durablue company specifically or if you did everything through RMATV? Not to take up for Durablue or anything, I know there products are a little shabby, but I think if you actually contacted them on this issue things may start to happen. If you just went through a big hassle with RMATV, then Durablue will never know about your problem. I am assuming that RMATV is actually Rocky Mountain ATV. If this is correct, I am sure that they just gave you what was sent to them and they will just send it back to Durablue. I think you shoud contact Durablue for sure or else they'll never know about your ordeal, they'll just recieve another bent axle from RMATV. Contact them, I bet you'll be suprized.

Also, since we're on the subject of bad service- NEVER EVER HAVE ANY DEALINGS WHATSOEVER WITH QUAD CENTRAL II IN LAS VEGAS, NV. I worked out there for a while and I know for sure that the guy running that place is the scemeinist leprican to ever be at the end of the rainbow. I've got about a million stories from that place and how they would rip people off. And saleing a used axle as a brand new unit sounds exactly like something he would do.

Yes I went through Rocky Mountain ATV directly but I am planning to contact Durablue as you recommend. I decided that I didn't want to pursue the Durablue option if they couldn't even get me a good part from the start; it made me question thier entire QC process, buy your point is well taken that if I don't tell them directly, they won't be able to try and improve thier process. I will do that for the sake of the ATV community, but as for me, I am going back OEM for better or worse.

Thanks for the replies. You guys have helped me out a hundred times on this forum and I hope to do my part to keep the V Force community "in the know" so to speak.

6209 sounds like a proper number for a bearing . dont knew what the ( 18 ) is about. the bearing size for a 6209 is 45mm inside, 85mm outside x 19 mm wide

I was going to get a Durablue axle too. I guess i will go with Lonestar unless someone knows of any bad dealings with them.
