Go one tooth bigger on the counter shaft and it gives you more top end. Stock gearing makes the Mojave rev its guts out at WFO.

what is the best ratio for a mojave. i know you can put for more top speed a 16/28 gearing and a 11/50 for start but which one is the best.

I don't believe a 16T front sprocket will even fit on a Mo. You can only stray from the stock gearing so far before you will need other mods to compensate. The Mojave is never going to be the fastest quad nor the quickest, so just focus on what you want. Either a little more speed or a little more acceleration.

greg from CWR said this: With the cam kit, my suggestion for gearing would be as follows:
22" rear tires= 13 teeth in front, 41 in rear
20" rear tires= 14 in the front, 40 in the rear
18" rear tires= 14 in the front, 39 in the rear
With other modifications gearings can change. For instance our 330 race motors run 15 in the front and 38 in the rear.

I know for a fact that a 14-15 tooth will nto fit on the mojave, a 13 does just that!
