jesus some of you kids are ignorant.
A mojave is not producing near 25 HP at the wheels my guess is 16ish at the wheels. DOHC, not a big deal until you start adding mods. High tech not really... liquid cooled? big deal. DOHC?big deal. 11:1 compression?big deal.
300ex will pull a mojave... it does high 17's at the wheels. But than again HP isnt everything. But yes a 300ex will beat a mojave

Oh i forgot 11:1 comp ratio is no big deal stock, and a 4 valve head that out flows a 2 valve one.
The 300ex only has 33 cc over the mojave. The mojave has a bigger carb, higher compression, 4 valve head and dual overhead cams as opposed to single, in my opinion they should be very close, as 33 cc isnt much.

I'm not a kid! I'll be 35 this week.....And I feel like 60 LOL.
I have raced several different quads with my Mojave. The Mo will beat a 250ex, 250x or 300ex in a short drag race. It will ALMOST hang with a stock 400ex but the 400 will leave the Mo in the higher gears.
The Honda's have more top speed than the Mo, So you guys that like to drag race and ride Mo's keep the races short
The Mo is extreemly low geared. This is the reason that it will accelerate as well as it does.

220bayou you say a 300ex doesnt have a 4 valve head? thats wrong
the mojave may ahve a bigger carb, but doesnt have a accelerator pump
and even with the 11:1 compression on the mojave the 300ex will take it in every position i can think of
like i said HP isn't everything

MojaveThunder- In the ATVSport 2002 buyers guide issue, they have the hp of the 300ex at a 13.6 max hp. They have the Lakota at 13.8 hp. The Mojave is shown but the hp is not listed. The Blaster is at 13.9 hp. Warrior is 18.3 hp. -ALL STOCK-
Sobemelahead- I agree that the Mojave is faster than the Lakota. The Mojave is liquid cooled while the Lakota is air cooled. The Lakota is a lot heavier than the Mojave. They both have the same darn plastic and they both need updating. Another difference is the semi-auto Lakota compared to the manual clutch on the Mojave.
