red hott head pipe

Default red hott head pipe

i just got a dg krome of lite exhaust and the head pipe is turing red hot is there something rong with it or is it breaking in and it i also shooting sparks/flames.thx

did u rejet? i dont know if it would cause it but if u havent u need to.

most likely you're lean. better put in bigger jets

i didn't rejett yet but wut will happen if i rid it around with out rejetting it for right now?

if u dont rejet u wont gain any power... in fact ull prob lose power.

you.re lean and your exhaust is red hot your valves are about 3 or 4 inches away if that from your header pipe imagine what your valves look like? red red red not good. rejet now

should i purchase the k&n jet kit or is there a certain jet i should get??

find out your jet size and order the next 3 sizes larger. www.sudco.com sells jets for 3 dollars

lean well maby but when we put my friends bayou back together we started it up and the float was stuck open it basically just pumped nothing but fuel in and filled the hole cylinder with fuel and when we finnaly got it started it was making the header glo read pipin hot so whe took the carb appart and unstucked (LOL) the float. why running lean i know with aftermarkets you usually always run lean at first but isnt it safer to run lean then rich. wouldnt rich be hotter.

the reason the Prairie V Twin, has a bigger jet in the rear carb is to make it run richer ( cooler ), because it runs a little hotter ( radiant heat, from the front cylinder )...
