Default v force springs?

I have been thinking about the v force and have read a few things about different colored springs for different conditions. But, noone has elaborated on what the springs are and the difference. Will someone explain?

Default v force springs?

What we're talking about is the primary clutch spring in the automatic transmission. Changing the primary spring enables riders to fine tune shift rate, side load, and full shift out poundage. For better acceleration you want a 'heavier' spring. The stock spring gives you the power pretty much as soon as you hit the gas, but it shifts too early.

Lots of people add duals, re-jet, and mess with the air box to get more performance, but for the V Force those should all come after, or at least at the same time, as a changeout to the clutch spring that is optimal for the kind of riding you want to do.

I like the stock spring... I like the instant power and I like to ride long trails, so for me it's perfect... but I can feel that my quad shifts early when I'm going full throttle across a flat.

For good information see the EPI website

They manufacture several springs with different characteristics.
