A few questions about my kfx700
#1
I have only ridden it twice and I think it's great (even though I tipped it once or twice (grin) but I did have a few questions.
1.) to get the front wheels up I pretty much have to gun it outa the hole... if I'm moving at all I can't get the wheels up at all?? anyway to fix that?? (guess I feell I can never get enuff power
2.) ouch my thumb was killin me (I think the spring is too tight) I also think I'm prolly a big wimp... I looked at the thumb saver and i dunno about usin my palm lol ... and the wrist turns seem dangerous... will this just go away??
3.) I couldn't really make heads or tails of the spring thing pink brown yellow?? what??
4.) Dual Exhaust?? ok which ones???
5.) How often do I really need to service this thing??
6.) Any other mods that will be worth it?? (K&N) etc. . . .
I mostly do trail riding and will take it to the beach soon... but I'm not super crazy or jump it... just fast on the straight aways and rooster it around the turns (or try to) Thanks for any advice you might have

Welcome aboard bandit33!!
I'm no expert but I think I can anawer a few of your questions.
1. The KFX 700 has so much torque, it should be quite easy to loft the front end even while moving at a good pace. Check your jetting to see if you might be running too rich. remember that the stock jetting is for sea level. Much above sea level and your losing power with the stock jets.
2. Your thumb will get used to it after a while.
3. The EPI pink spring is a great place to start. It improves the shiftout point of the clutch and makes for improved acceleration.
4. I'm personally waiting on all the manufactures to come out with pipes to see which are the best performers.
5. Stick to the owners manual.
6. Let it breathe, clutch it right and get an exhaust and you'll be flying
Good luck and be safe!

Orale homes! Vtwiner I am from Santa Fe.
Hey here's a thought for you since you're a fellow New Mexican... too bad it's a dream
Imagine riding the dunes at White Sands National Monument on your V. Holy crap I almost pass out thinking about it. If only...
And all 6 of your points are right on. Answers to 1 and 3 overlap... stiffer spring basically keeps the thing in a lower gear and enables greater acceleration. Stock spring basically shifts too early. Pink spring will enable you to wheelie easier, but again I can wheelie up to about 20 mph. You do have to let your weight go back a little, but not much. I find it challenging to keep the thing on the ground... I always lean forward so I don't because I like to keep the rubber side down... que no?
About the exhaust... good advice to wait but if you can't wait you can't go wrong with the DMC Aliens... that's what the Team Green racers are using and they're kicking @$$ on the GNCC circuit with the V.
oh hey... I bet a bunch of us would like to know what jets you are running up there at 7,000 feet altitude in Espanola? And where do you ride?

I think I'll put on the aliens as well.. and a bigger gas tank?? seems like I run out after a few hours of play... Thanks for the advice ! ! ! !
