Just curious, why would you have to rejet if you advance your ignition by 6 degrees?

In this case advancing the timing reduces heat. The timing is retarded on the Kawi really bad and that creates heat. Advancing it 6 degrees brings it closer to normal and thus cooler. If you advanced it to far it would create more heat.

you may also need to rejet since the new advance burns the mixture more completely. You would need more feul to make even more power.

MORE POWER!! Thats what we are all after!

I was just wondering if you checked the plugs first, to see if rejeting was necessary. I kind of got the impression that you rejetted first just to be safe.

What side if your looking at the bike does the cut in the key go. I got the key and installed it and took it down the road and guess what??? it spun a bearing on the rear rod.. It was not because the key it was because the front drive shaft seal was leaking oil. Now mike has my bike and it's going to cost ALOT to get it back. New everything. I was thinking that i put the key in wrong. mike told me to put it in with the cut out faceing the right if you on the driverside looking at the bike. He has used parts but also i would like to put in all 700 parts or put in micky's big bore kit. I don't think that it would hurt to put in a used crank if mike thinks it ok. Then i could spend money on the big bore kit. We can get parts cheaper a ron ayers than what mike told me he could sell them to me for. Whats up with that? Is mike paying more than we are is it he just won't sell the parts that cheap. I would rather come of the price on my parts and make some money than to tell the owner if he/she could get chearper to send them to me. Just my thoughts. Just not sure what to do??????

there is alot of reasons for mike not selling you the parts as cheap as ronayers#1 mike won't and shouldn't stand behind those parts because you bought them he didn't. if the parts are defaulty you have to buy another one and mike gets paid again to install them. if mike buys the parts and installs them and they go bad then mike bought them and installed them so he eats the total price. he does it again until it works.you pay him once.
