Bayou 250
#2
I have had two Bayous, a 220 and a 300. Was very pleased with them. Good solid utilities.
Plowed snow for 4 years with my 300 2x4 with out ever having a single problem with it.
Put better tires on it and never got it stuck once.
I can't speak for the new 250, but my daughters 220 hauls *ss for a 215cc motor. A little light on
comfort, and top end, but a quality little quad.

My younger causin has a '03 Bayou 250, he keeps it on my property so i spent a good amount of time testing it out on a veriety of terrain. for a 250 it has alot of bottum end power and refuses to get stuck, lol my uncle went with me on a trail ride event over in PA, and it was the WORST terrain we ever rode on, some of the mud ruts where like, 2 feet and deeper and slime everywere and that bayou kept going. i think it is a cool little utility quad. the handling isnt the greatest, but it will work harder than "ANY" other 250 ive seen. and it rides and steers quite smoothly as well.

henpecked, I tried to tell a few in here that a Bayou would beat a Recon and 250EX in a short drag a while back and they all told me I was full of sh*t. Glad to see you have had the same experience. I have beaten 2 250Exs on my daughters Bayou in the last year in 100 yard drags on flat smooth grass.

Well maybe my Bayou 250 was built on a crappy day or the guy had the flu or something. This thing has went thruogh a whole top end the first month we owned it. The shocks in the front are shot... the gas guage always reads empty and it won't ever run right. It's under warranty still but this bike just can't seem to get well.I'll never buy another one. Now my 300 Prairie 4x4 ....thats one bad a$$ machine....

Make sure you test drive before deciding, i learned the hard way. The bayou is strickly a utility quad, the front end has a single a arm, and thats a big limitation. The motors and trannys work just fine, but if youre interested in trail riding, or even modest sport riding, the front suspension will have you cursing it.
Try out the honda 250 and suzuki 250, after riding the bayou...and youll see what i mean.
