Yep, they're the same. Put it on, it will reduce belt slippage, extend belt life. A good thing, since the belt's list price is $100.00 !!!!!!

TRX450,
FYI: You can get the P700 belt at ron ayers or tracy's world of cycle for less than $70 now (plus shipping). Unfortunately for me, I paid $116 (plus shipping) for a new P700 belt from ron ayers last summer and very soon thereafter the prices dropped! In any case, the EPI black spring is still a good idea.

kissofdeath did an extensive spring test for p650 and p700 in Nov. or Dec. 03. His
conclusion was the stock spring on the p700 was very good and He wouldn't spend the money to change.

Mikey--- Yep, I know about AYER's prices, that is why I mentioned list/retail price. Thanks for the info, just the same.
No performance gain to speak of, according to my "extensive testing", by the seat of my pants! LOL KOD IS a good source of info on springs. He did take some(a lot) time, and test several. I haven't seen KOD posting lately. Hope he is O.K.

FYI: I conducted timed drag test runs on asphalt last summer with my P650 to see how EPI black secondary spring affected performance and I reported my results on this and other forums. The results were that the EPI black spring made no significant difference at all in acceleration at 100' and 300' Also, my top speed was unchanged. I run 25" tires by the way. Not sure if my timed runs would have shown a different result using larger tires or not.
