well I finally got the chance to stretch my FST 750cc kit equiped Prairie's legs a little today... top speed was 69 mph ( on the speedo )... best I've had on flat level ground, although it was muddy, so that may have slowed me a few mph from what is possible ( used to only go about 56 mph on the speedo )... I still need to do some fine tuning on the dial-a-jet, & may break that 70 mph mark... the biggest difference was really in the 40 mph to 60 mph area ( I could easily do low 60's in 300 ft ), the 40 - 60 mph acceleration is incredible, & with the hole shot module installed, I still have plenty of low end power... I didn't get a chance to look at the tach, but will try to soon, to see if I've got the power to get close to the rev limit... If I am, addition of the new CDI, will probably net me another 5 mph on the top end... I think 75mph, with out any clutch mods is pretty darn good...

It was bothering me, that I forgot to look at the tach, at top speed... so I went out again... 8400 + rpm... I didn't hit the hard rev limit, but I think with some timing advance, I'll hit the "hard wall"... this was a test I wanted to do to see if putting a flywheel timing key in would help me... at this point, I'm so close to the hard rev limit, that I will need the CDI, with the raised rev limit, to get any more top speed out of my machine... though it will help with acceration, if Dyna comes out with the CDI as stated, with the higher rev limit & timing advance, with this installed, the only quad out there faster, will be Ozzy's ( bad joke... 150 mph... LOL... )

Mike W,
That is awesome news...I wish mine went 69mph! Are you running stock size (25") tires or a larger size? Also, have you ever had a chance to check the accuracy of your speedo display by using a gps? If so, how far off was it, if any? Just curious.

CF&W... is that your top speed with the cams retarded 20* ??? you haven't done the flywheel key yet ??? I think I'm going to hold off on installing the key...& just install the CDI, when it comes out, with the key, I'll get to where I'm at now, alot quicker, but won't gain any more top speed, as I'm only 50 rpm from the hard rev limit... ( which will be raised 1000 rpm on the new CDI )
MIKEY... I had the 26" MTR radials on my Keizer bead locks on at the time... I tested my speedo this summer, with stock tires on, & was off 3-4 mph... it may be off a little less with the 26" tires ??? I don't currently own a GPS, so I borrow one, when I need it...

Yes, that's the top speed with the cams 20* retarded from the stock location, with no other mods, except Dial-A-Jet. No, I haven't done the flywheel key, yet. I bought it, but I think I will just wait for the CDI to come out, also.
