p650 choke trouble, running out of idea's
I just purchased an 2002 p650 camo with 600miles on it and i,m having a starting problem I need advise on. To start start it I put on the choke and crank the engine but it won't start unless i touch the throttle( I read this is common)but the real problem is that i have to hold the throttle on slightly with the choke on to keep it running throughout the warmup, after one minute it idles fine and seems to run good, But the choke used alone barely seems to increase the engine speed. I checked both of the pilot jets and they are clean. Next I cleaned a dirty air filter and readjusting the air screws with no effect on how it starts up. Finally I shimmed the needles .040 and this partially cleared up some of the coughing that would occur during warmup but it's still the same as far as using the throttle during warmup. I did a plug check after all this, it's brown . Could this be the cable problem Ive read about? I thought that would keep the choke on.
