Results common?
#1
My wife got me a Prairie 700 for my b-day last december. After break in I decided to see what she had. I went WOT from a dead stop on blacktop and in less than a city block (ok small town block) was doing 50 mph..... not bad. AT this time my top speed was 69 mph on flat and level gravel road ( I chickened out at trying any faster). I then did the Nyroc Muffler mod with 3 1/2 inch holes and 3 1 inch holes. I cut out most of the spark arrestor but left the 1 inch outlet. After this mod I was able to get to 52 mph in the same distance but could only get 62 mph out of the quad. Well tonight I re-jetted and went to 142f and 145r (less than 600 ft) and in the same distance backed out at 59 mph cause I was running out of room to shut her down! I don't know what the top speed is yet but I can tell she is MUCH happier with this fuel to air mixture. Wheelies from dead stop are almost a problem on any surface with traction available.
My next mod will be the black spring. It is sitting on my shelf as we speak waiting for its turn.
My question is are these results common? I was thinking about trying to buy a used DG module but I don't think I will just yet. Maybe after I put some 27 inch Gators on her she could use the help.
Overall I can say I am EXTREMELY happy with my 33rd bday present. Now how do I top that for her birthday?

I have also found that with just jetting you can get more out of these machines. I have recently installed dial a jet this gives great throttle response, easily gives power just off of idle when engine starts to load. I can wheelie with out the module easily. I have pilot jets on order should recieve them any day now. I am also making a list of all carb related mods as I believe that you can gain or lose those horsepower just with the jets. I am also going to dyno soon. I will be testing these carb mods and the DG module and the H/L module just to see if there is any advantages. I am glad that you are enjoying you B-day present I got mine for my B-day too, and I love it. I would like to take this time to also thank everyone else who post on these forums. All these post and combined knowledge helps. My next mod is cams. I would like to say that I think that proper jetting is the first step after exhaust and hi-flow filter is jetting, I believe this after months of playing with the carbs.
