How to test electric start?

Default How to test electric start?
The electric start button on my Bayou 300 doesnt work. I can start it, buy not with the switch, I have to jump the solenoid. Any common probs w/ these? How can I test it with a voltmeter? Thanks for any help!

Anybody know? I have an ohm/volt meter. Thanks in advance.
