main jet P360??
#1
Can anyone tell me what size main is in my 360??? If I twist my carb can I change main while still hooked to engine without pulling carb off?? Just reading about dial a jets and I think for the price of a jet--I will downsize and give the dial a jet the benefit of the doubt. I know it is not working and am just wondering if I do downsize main will I get any performance gains, Any info on jet size will be helpful and I will give it a shot and report back to forum

Stock is #155.. Being your in PA I doubht lowering jet size would give you any advantage, infact would probably make you to lean ( I assume you ride below 4000ft??).. I went to a #150 in the summer & notice no difference in lower elevations that I ride (4500ft) but when I get high say above 7500 ft that's when I retain my power, with the 155 I lost allot up high..
I pull the carb to change jets, not very hard at all..

Thanks Buddy
Although I am pretty sure my Dial a Jet is not working at this point, motor runs so well that I dont think I will mess with jetting. I am going to study these Kawi clutches and see if I can do some fine tuning. Anybody know a link or a sight that I might go to on how this clutch setup works?? It would be helpful before I start taking things apart

OLEMAN... so I'm assuming that you're happy with the timing key now ( earier question about direction, etc ).... & just for reference purposes... there is a very noticable power increase ???
as far as the clutching goes... the 1st thing I'd do is install a tach ( IMO, Datona digital from DK is the way to go right now ), so that you can tell better what your engine / clutchs are doing.... you can shim you primary spring, for a little more stall ... if you think that would help... there is a possibility that the primary may be machined some, so that the sheeves will go together more... net you 1-2 more mph top end ( if your belt is currently only running to a 1/4" of the top of the sheeves, like the big Prairies... you may also be able to install 300 or 400 clutches, if your rpms are higher than a typical 300 runs, for example, then installing the 300's clutches ( if the output shaft sizes are the same ), will gain you alot

Newbeatle--Thats a negative on the timing key---I have not noticed any performance difference since i did the key---My top end speed and power was not affected at all. With all my mods I have not increased anything on top---I need to compare the rest of my power range to a stock 360---a friend has one and promised to bring it over to compare with me---that will be the only way i can tell if it is pulling any better down low and mid range----I think it is because it is running awesome. But it ran pretty good stock also---
I am going to study up on the clutches and maybe give that a try next
