I'm riding a rincon now, but im thinking of trading it in on a V-force. I dont think i need the 4wheel drive, hell ive never had to use it. But i dont play in mud up to my seat either, will the 700 do ok in mud about a foot deep or so??? I do mostly trail riding, but i also like plenty of oomph. Am i thinking right???
Also i have to ride automatics, cause thats what my wife likes.
Please give me honest opinions.

The V will do fine. I have ridden mine at the Hatfield/McCoy trails. I never had many problems getting around.

 

Hey Philjo, Remember me from MTR? Small world! My son rides a V-force and hes a mudder! Join us out at Spurgeon and you can try it out or their is a bunch of us going to Redbird this Saturday. It is not a 4X4 utility, but it is pretty awsome! We put full DG Fat Series skids on it to help protect it alittle.

 

Thanks for the offer Brads, but im too consumed in building my new house right now to take off for a ride. I have ridden the V before, but only in a open field. Im thinking its better suited for my style of riding than the rincon, though its a great bike its just doesnt quite fit me.

Mud a foot deep and you will be buried up to your frame. I've done it and it wasnt a pretty sight either. You are gonna need something besides the stock holeshots if you plan on going in mud thats a foot deep. I tore the stock grab bar off trying to lift it from the suction of the mud. I guess if you are hauling a$$ you might make it through. Or coulda just been me driving it down a hill into a pile of quicksand mud. I swear it looked like solid ground but as soon as i hit it, I sunk op to the frame. Tires were just spinning couldn't dig any deeper cause it was sitting on the frame. Needless to say I was a muddy mess after spending about 20 mins getting it out. If my riding buddy hadn't been there to help me lift it out I dont know what I would have done. JMO

 

Ive had mine in mud and water that has been almost up to the seat. I have never got stuck on the V in the mud. I follow 4x4's around all the time and have no trouble as of yet. Guess i better knock on wood now huh? lol. The V should do fine in a foot of mud or more unless my mud is just different from others.. lol

 

It all depends what color of mud it is. Or if it is just a water hole and not a mud hole. The mud in my area is black and no 2wd will make it. I went riding at St. Joe Park Mo. over the weekend and there is not much mud to be found there and all the holes are solid so as long as you dont get high centered anyone can make it through. JMO

 

I agree with the above that it depends on the type of mud you are going through. I have had fair luck with really watery type of mud on my stock tires. The thicker mud is the problem unless you hit it at supersonic speed. My paddle tires helped a bunch with the thicker mud holes.

 

I used 10" Kenda Klaws. Very good tire for my area of operation.
