Default Question about new DYNA CDI

I have read alot of posts on this subject. Before I purchase, I really want to know if it will run on a bone stock P700 without having to re-jet? My P700 is currently running rich in stock form, the plugs are pretty much black. It does run good and only has 15 hours on it. I really don't want to get into re-jetting due to the warranty issues. I figured that I could just put the stock CDI back on if I have a reason to take it in for warranty work.

If anyone has put this "DYNA CDI" on a bone stock P700 or is plannig to, I would appreciate your input.

Thanks in advance

I would think the only things that might need to be changed would be the idle and the life insurance policy.

Default Question about new DYNA CDI

IF you are running rich now, it shouldn't be a problem. If anything, some have said you might have to richen it up after adding a CDI. If you are running rich, adding a CDI will bring you closer to where you should be if those who claimed that are right.

Default Question about new DYNA CDI

I put mine on my bone stock bike yesterday and it ran great. There is without a doubt a SERIOUS power increase. I have not ever pulled a spark plug out of it, so I don't know exactly how the mixture is. I do know that it didn't have any hesitation or popping or anything like that, so the mixture must be close to right. It seems just like it was, just more powerful.

One thing did change - it now starts a whole lot easier. I used to have to hold a little throttle to it to get it to fire up, but now I just hit the button and it fires right up after a couple of revolutions. I plan on taking a look at my plugs when I get a chance. I will try to let you know what I find.

You can leave it or remove it. Once the CDI is in the holeshot does nothing.

sicnj, You don't have to hook the wire up but you can if you wish. The new CDI does not use the speed sensor wire( pink wire)
