KFX700 OIL FILTER
#1
Heres a new one, for me anyway. Just finished my first oil change. Replaced oil ( kawachem) and filter. Fired it up and everything was ok, for the moment. The oil light then came on. I checked the oil level, it was fine. Called my local Kawasaki and ran it over for a oil pressure test. It tested great ( 75 to 90 psi). He then noticed my oil filter was not OEM. I had bought a Napa gold because my dealer was out at that time. He said the OEM filter had internal baffles that actually created back pressure. ( I guess the oil sender is at the end of the oil gallies instead of the front) The Napa filter was giving the oil sensor false readings. I switched back to the Kawasaki filter and no more problems. I know a lot manufactuers make replacement filters and I haven't heard of anyone else having problems. Has anyone heard of this? Anyway just a little info, might help someone someday.

The oil filter part# cross over is as followsFram P# PH6017A ( kawy replacement)Fram P# 7371 (auto conversion)Purolator P# PL14620 (auto conversion) *Recommended*Note: The Purolator filter is significantly larger than both the stock Kawy filter and any other auto type oil filter that I have found. The extra length of the filter will allow you to add about 4-6 ounces of X-tra oil....a good thing....highly recommend using it.The auto conversion info is as follows: The V-Force uses the same oil filter for / as the......1994 Mazda MX3 V-6 engineUsing this conversion you can use any brand oil filter, and you can also pick them up at any Wal-Mart or Auto Zone type outlets.
I used the Fram filter works great cost me 3.99 at Wal-mart versus 13 bucks at the dealer
