What is the best
Hi,
I want to buy a new atv. I'm looking for a big one. Which one is the best between kawa 700, Cat 650 or Polaris 700 efi. Or do I have to wait for the new Suzuki suppose to arrive this summer and I'm not thinking about the Twinpeaks 700, but about the other one build by Suzuki?

It really depends upon what you intend to do with your "big" atv. Since I own a kawasaki I may be slightly biased, but it best suits my needs. I wanted an atv that I could play on year round in the woods with the sport atvs, but still be able to haul my hunting gear, and be capable of some utility; pulling stumps, plowing, etc. I'm almost certain in saying you will not find a faster or "sportier" 4x4 atv out there. However, if you intend to go through heavy mud, or extreme rock crawling, you may want to look into an independent rear suspension quad (IRS). This gives you more ground clearance, the only sacrifice is that the rear end is usually very stiff in comparison to a solid axle quad like the prairie, to help with the leaning or "body roll" inherent to IRS rears. If you aren't in a major hurry kawasaki may be releasing something interesting later this year, wink-wink. hope this helps you...

look at the 700 Prairie or the new brute force 750 EFI and IRS kawi. Also The bomb is coming out with a big outlander, Suzuki single, cat650, rinny 650, 660 Grizz. As for the best it's really what's best for you instead of what best for me, but for me it's the Kawi Prairie 700. I don't think you will be dissapointed with any of those, but try em out and see what you like. Things to look for are things like diffi lock, 2wd/4wd, auto or standard, independant sup or solid rear axle etc.

Thank you for your information. I want to do what you said. Its for hunting, fishing and ride with it in winter. Is there a big difference between the irs and rigid axle. I like much the Kawa but I know that the Cat has an irs, and the motor is the 650 Kawa. So I ask myself if am better to buy a Kawa with a rigid axle or a Cat ith an irs.

do you have a kawi or AC dealer close to your home? having a decent dealership to go to means one heck of a lot to me. See if your dealer(s) are friendly, and if they are willing to upgrade your tires, or give you a winch, special incentive financing...etc, BEFORE you make a purchase decision. usually these are the last things people base a decision on, but if it's a close call between the two, see what incentives a dealer will give you. The solid axle is more sport oriented, it has no "body roll" in the rear end, but you do lose quite a bit of ground clearance. If you are a Kawi fan, but decide an IRS rear is for you, patience may pay off.

the twinpeaks is the same vtwin that is in the kawasaki. i dont know much about the ac, but i love my vforce and wouldnt trade it for anything. But if i were going to get a utility atv i would go with the polaris 700 efi if i could get rid of that ugly light on the handlebars. jmo.

As others have said.... It really depends on how you plan to ride it. I wouldn't trade my P700 for any other bike. I for one, wouldn't want an IRS becasue I wanted a sportier machine... I like to 2wd and slide the rear, and have the stability for 50+ mph runs. I don't worry about ground clearance, as the P700 wheelies so easy I can pop over anything in my way!!
Go to your dealer, and ride as many bikes as possible..... My wife and I did that.. and she liked the Kodiak 400 best. She said it "felt right" for her... and having had it now for 6 months.. she's quite fearless on it, and it does quite well. Sure, it won't win any races..; but she doesn't ride it like that... It tops out about 50 mph... and she rides it to the limit.. but that/s all she wants.
Sooo..think about how you want to ride.... and Let your butt be your guide!!

Hello, I agree with one of the other replies. If you can have the patience, wait for the 750 Kawasaki with IRS. They will be out in the fall. People that I bike with that have Polaris love the IRS, but the 100 lbs. of extra weight that they are carrying around hurts performance and gas mileage. Artic Cat still may suffer a little bit in durability. I just read in a story in an ATV mag that the power plant in the AC is a watered down version of the Kawasaki. What that means could be open to interpretation. Also in that same mag, they had the P700 and Suzuki Twin Peaks pictured together as the #1 big bore bikes. I have an '04 P700 and I am extremely happy with it. Good luck with your decision.
