Default Atv won't start please help asap

I have a 1986 Kawasaki 300KLF bayou 2x4 and it won't start, i'm pretty sure I have a bad valve and its probably closed. Just wondering how to replace the valves, never done it before. If anybody can help me please email me at emmamadd@nbnet.nb.ca. If anybody knows a website on how to fix and work on atv's please tell me. I'm new to atving and well, my bike is quite old and always needs work.

LEOP... you came to the right place, but with a question like that it's difficult to give you what you want... you best bet is to purchase a repair manual... this will show you step by step what you need to do, & tell you the tools you need...

My wife rides a KLF 300. I completely rebuilt the engine about 2 years ago. First of all does the engine have any compression. Whether it does or not the first thing to do is check to see if the valves are opening. To do that you need to take off the two oval shaped covers that are on top of the camshaft housing. It's the large piece on the very top of the engine. There is a fromt and rear cover. Intake and exhaust. Intake on the rear and exhaust on the front. After you take the covers off, turn the engine over and see if the rocker arms are moving up and down. If they are not you could have a broken timing chain or broken camshaft. If the rocker arms are moving, an intake or an exhaust valve could be stuck " open", in which case the engine will have no compression. If you discover any of the things i have mentioned, and you have little or no engine rebuilding experience, get a service manual or take it to a dealer for repair. I hope this helps.
