Carburetor Jetting...Need a hand here

Well here goes nuttin. I have zero experience with carburetors. Since it's snowing around here, tomorrow will be a good day to:
Install dg snorkle.
Install twin air filter.
Install dynojet kit.
Just installed dyna cdi with little performance gain, but some. Still runs good, no carb adjustment.
The kit or carburetors are something I have never worked on.
I have the service manual, various website tips, and nyroc's tech tips for jetting (difficulty rating 8).
I could use some help with the main steps. Need 'O' rings, gaskets? Take carbs completely apart to clean, or spray cleaner everywhere? Idea to mark 1/4 points on throttle? Work on jets in what order, main jets first? Install both snorkle and filter before doing anything with carbs?
I have enough tips to do the jetting....just don't really know sequence, such as do I completely remove the carbs first thing?
Not asking for a lot of your time on details, just main steps and what not to do.

That rating of 8 is for people that don't have a clue. The real difficulty is 2 for people that have a clue. Now that you have read all about it, it should only be a 2 for you.
1. Install snorkle.
2. Install air filter. Better yet, send it back and get an 03 airbox with an 03 twin air.
3. Install DJ needles paying careful attention to the DJ instructions. You should probably start 1 notch lower than DJ recommends. Nyroc explains what you have to do to get to them installed on the website. No need to remove the carbs. Difficulty rating 1.25 for just the needles. Be careful not to drop anything in the carbs (or anywhere else). Put clean rags in the carb barrels while you are working for safety.
4. Forget the DJ jets. No need to use them. If your mains are ever too lean, get one more kehin jet that is 1 size richer than the rear one and put it in the rear carb, and move the one that used to be in the rear carb to the front (rear carb always uses 1 size richer).
5. Start it, let the engine heat up. Adjust the idle mixture screws using the "1/4 turn past first fast idle method" (see website). Do not count turns, do not mark the carb.
6. Get a dang mig welder and poke holes through that stinking muffler. Have a pro weld the tip back on if you have to. Don't go more than 6 x 3/8" holes. We don't need any more noisy quads. 6 3/8 holes adds some power but isn't loud.
Do a plug test for main jets. Make sure those are right before adjusting needles.
Adjust the idle after each time you change the needles.

nyroc, I have ordered the '03 airbox and am arranging to get the exhaust modified with the 6x3/8" holes. Then somebody posted that the 6 holes were 100% noisier than stock, his mod was 50% noisier than that, etc.
Have you had any comments on the 6 holes being too loud? I really want to do that mod since I am spending time and money getting more air into the system. Thanks for any info.
As I was. Disregard. I listened to the sound clip on tech tips and it sounded good. Not too loud at all.
