Unless you like harsh engagement you'll HATE the red primary, why EPI recomends that spring is beyond me.. I have never really taken the red primary out & seen what happens to top end or nothing, couldn't get past the harsh engagement so took it right out.. I tried the Pink primary from Kawi (i'm sure it's a different spring though) & didn't see much difference but a little harsher engagement, and now the wife lost it

Let us know how you like the combo Mike Rhyne, red secondary is good for more low & mid end grunt, but hurts the top end a bit, I use it in the winter

I'll let you know I may not use both but we'll see. I may not get to it tonight now - freelance work (toy money) may get in the way...

Thanks,

I have rode the 360's.A lot of other machines to compare to as well. The power is very dissappointing .Kawi already had a liquid cooled 400 when the 360 was put out.THAT'S the motor they should've used.

For comparison sake, I have an 89 300 Hoda 4x4 that will pull away from my buddies 360's anywhere, staights , hills, you name it.(that's just over 280 cc's)The 360's are fuel pigs too. There is also no comparison between a 360 and a Yamaha 400 Kodiac, either.

I like Kawi's, I love my 650, but I get the feeling Kaw threw the 360 together, the quality doesn't seem to be there.

On the up side, they ride very well and have excellent brakes

Funny you say there is no comparison between the Yamaha 400 & the 360, because I couldn't agree more.. My neighbor happens to have a Kodiac 400, no L gear, no front diff lock, no wet rear brakes & his top speed is 45mph, where my 360 is 48mph..

For one thing I wasen't comparying the 360 to my V. That would be a "foot in mouth" statement. I should have said "in its class". Sorry for the confussion. So I see most of the 360 owners have the black epi secondary. Does it work? Is there a confermed primary spring yet? We ride at sea level. So is the jetting change ideal for me or not?

OK guys, I'm not gonna jump on the bandwagon and say what a dog my 360 is-- It is a big heavy, solid machine---very comfortable, except for all the vibration( my buddies Polaris 500 is as smooth as silk) and it sure has never let me down under any circumstance, but I sure wish I could get a little more power (i know, i know, port-polish-increase compression) but then it would probably go to fast and I would wreck it!!!!!!! LOL

Hey Unithias---I just dropped bowl on my carb(how easy it is after the first time) and pulled my main jet out---it is really small and is marked K-90 no other markings???? Does this make any sense?? I see the needle jet right next to it so I am sure I dont have them confused >

Is the 360 engine similar to the Bayou 300?: Are you guys talking about a 4x4 360? We hit 48 the other day on the Bayou, with a 175lb rider.

I love my 360. It may not be the fastest thing out there but if you get it in the woods I feel it is one of the better machines out there. I mostly ride with polaris 500's or bigger. Mine has yet to disappoint me out there and it has impressed many with the fact that it will go anywhere the sportsman and grizzleys will. Some days depending on my mood it will go farther.

I put the red secondary spring in mine because in the beginning everyone said get the black for the 650 and the red worked better for the 360. I have never tried a black spring or even rode with a machine that had a black spring in it. What is the difference between the two and which one works the best?????

I was going to put the red secondary in last night and with that long of a spring the home made spring compressor was concerning me as I wasn't sure the PVC cap could handle that amount of tension so I stopped. I may make a better cap tonight from a gas pipe cap and weld one of the nuts to the rod.
